Urban Acres Hosts 4th Annual Parade of Homes Bike Ride
The June 1 bike ride starts at Urban Acres in Coralville and is free to the public.
Urban Acres Real Estate will host the 4th Annual Parade of Homes Bike Ride on June 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“This is one of our favorite events,” said Urban Acres agent Mike Bails. “The bike ride is free, and if people purchase an official Parade of Homes ticket, they can also stop off and enjoy all of the homes and remodeling projects on the route. It’s a great way to spend time with friends and family and bike the greater Iowa City area.”
The ride kicks off at Urban Acres headquarters, 250 Holiday Road in Coralville, where cyclists can gather for a light breakfast (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) before heading out. Riders can pedal a variety of routes or choose their own. Route options will be available the morning of the bike ride. Geoff’s Bikes will also have a tent set up for last-minute mechanical services before cyclists hit the road, and bike parking will be available at each home featured on the ride routes.
In addition to Parade homes, riders are invited to stop at local businesses, including Rocky O’Brien’s, Hilltop Tavern, Blackstone, and Reds Alehouse. Each rider will be given an Urban Acres wristband and be eligible for drink specials at the featured local businesses.
Riders can purchase a Parade of Homes ticket for $8 at Urban Acres the morning of the ride. Tickets are also available at the Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association office located at 11 S. Gilbert Street in Iowa City. Participants will use the ticket throughout the ride and receive punches at every house they visit.
“At the end of the ride, participants can return to Urban Acres from 4-7 p.m.,” said Urban Acres agent Robin Sueppel. “We’ll have food, drinks, and live music. We’ll also be giving away cycling gear including jerseys, bike lights, and water bottles.”
