Peggy is an Iowa City native who’s spent the past 16 years in commercial real estate. She specializes in commercial construction sales with an emphasis on general construction, design build, turn-key, build-to-suit, and construction management opportunities. After graduating from the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College, Peggy got her start in real estate working with a development company, and then with a commercial construction company, where she managed more than 30 million dollars in projects at one time.
Peggy’s favorite part of commercial real estate is her clients: every type of business she’s been able to help open has provided a new, exciting experience. As a champion of both new and well-established companies, Peggy considers herself lucky to work with people who want to invest in our community and take risks to open their businesses. Clients describe her as patient and tenacious, someone with an ability to see the big picture. Community investors, community developers, and corporate owners value her creative, entrepreneurial approach to real estate development.
When she isn’t representing commercial clients, Peggy is an active board member. She’s been on the Convention and Visitors Bureau Board and the Area Chamber Community Leadership Program Board for more than 10 years, and she’s spent eight years on the Goodwill Board. Peggy also helps raise funds for many community programs, including the Regina Education Center and City High School.
Fun Facts about Peggy Slaughter:
Are you a little bit urban or a little bit acres? Well, it all started with acres, right? Love the open air. Love the view. And that feeling continues with what we have created. Take the old and make it new. Renew, redesign. I recently visited NYC with my daughter. We couldn’t see it all fast enough. The Met Museum is incredible!
